Project Life - Stash

Now that I've adopted the Project Life method of scrapbooking, a lot of things have changed. Not only in the style of our memory books, but also in the way I shop for supplies, in the way I organize my stash, and how I schedule time to actually work on our books. And yes... that's plural... BOOKS... can't believe I have two books going right now, thinking about 2014's book, planning our December book, and printing photos for Wyatt's baby book! WHEW!!!! If I was still scrapbooking the old way... I'd never dream of accomplishing all of these!!!

Some of my favorite things.
So, I wanted to touch on some of these changes, one by one. I'm starting with how I shop for my supplies.
Did you know that, all the main items you need to do Project Life scrapbooking can now be purchased at Michael's??? It took a little over three years, but, they are FINALLY in my local Micahel's store and I can go in and pick up what I need, when I need it. And there is something to be said about being able to pick something up, hold it, look at it, etc before buying it. So, I purchase my albums, clear pocket pages, PL Kits, and some extras at Michael's.

Now, when it comes to embellishments, stamps, unique cards, and anything else that isn't included in the Project Life kits, I get EVERYTHING (and more) I need from my Studio Calico kits. What is Studio Calico? Well, it's an amazing membership program that you subscribe to. They have three different options for subscriptions. The Scrapbook kit, the Project Life kit, and the Card Making kit. You pick the kit/s you want and they charge you monthly and ship you your kits. My favorite part is, these kits are made up of a magical mix of supplies from the top brands in the scrapbooking world. Things I can't just pick up at the big box stores. And frankly, It would take me HOURS to find all these bits and pieces that match, to make up a kit...

I subscribe to the Project Life and Scrapbook kits. That way, I have cards for my Project Life pockets, AND I have a nice stash of 12x12 paper, just in case I want to throw in a full page layout in our books.

I'm holding my breath for October's Kit. I'm in-love with the gold accents, stars, and the translucent green alphabet... FUN!!!

Another nice thing about Studio Calico is, they have additional items that you can add to your order. I couldn't pass up these gold letter press cards! BEAUTIFUL!!! they will be a perfect addition to our fall pages! "I'll eat you up, I love you so"... my thoughts exactly!

AND, if you thought it couldn't get any better, Studio Calico just posted their December Daily kit for 2013! (Swooooon!!!)

What is December Daily? Well, you can follow this link to read more about it, but, basically, you scrapbook a page every day in December! The beautiful thing is, you get a mini scrapbook with the kit, along with EVERYTHING you would need to complete your book.

Just snap your photos each day, and slip them in the book! I'm tempted to order mine now, so that I can have it all ready before Dec. 1... put all my cards in and just leave space for photos and journaling. Easy Peasy.

If you want to see a little more details about Studio Calico product, you can read my previous posts or check out their website.

I'm excited to share with you how I organize all my stash, once it comes in. Stay tuned! :D

CHEERS! And here's to Happy! - Leslie
